Meet Mark Osland...

Mark Osland for Chisago County SheriffCandidate for Chisago County Sheriff

Mark grew up on a dairy farm and still farms today with his family in Sunrise Township.  They raise beef along with corn and soy beans on over 100 acres. His wife Wanda is a nurse at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.  The couple relocated to the Lindstrom area 14 years ago to begin their family.  They have two sons, Noah (10) and Jacob (8).  Mark wanted his children to experience the values of being raised on a farm and the strong work ethic that goes along with it. The family also includes an adult son, Blaine, a member of the North Dakota National Guard, and a grandson.

Mark's motivation to become sheriff started when he was young. The Sheriff’s office played a big role in rural life. The deputies were usually people's first contact, as problem solvers and a resource for their community. Their influence steered Mark to his decision to serve people through law enforcement.
